History

The Faculty of Law of Parahyangan Catholic University, which was officially established in 1958, is the second oldest faculty since the Faculty of Economics as the first faculty was inaugurated in 1955. With the support of very limited facilities and infrastructure at the time of its inauguration, but supported by the dedication and sacrifice of its founders and managers, the Faculty of Law of UNPAR has gradually succeeded in making its mark as one of the leading Law Faculties in Indonesia. In the early days of its existence, lectures and management of the Faculty of Law were held in a movie theater with a relatively small number of lecturers and students. After UNPAR had its own campus located at Jalan Merdeka No. 30; Jalan Aceh No. 53 and Jalan Ciumbuleuit No. 94 Bandung all learning activities and management of the Faculty of Law were carried out on this campus together with other faculties within UNPAR. Building 2 at Jalan Ciumbuleuit No. 94 Bandung was used as the new campus of the Faculty of Law from 1979 – 1980 until now. The UNPAR campus on Jalan Merdeka No. 30 is currently used for the activities of the UNPAR Master of Laws and Doctor of Laws Study Programs. Since 2018, the Master of Laws and Doctor of Laws programs have been integrated into the Faculty of Law. Thus since then, the Faculty of Law has two study programs namely: 1) Bachelor of Law Program; 2) Master of Law Program and Doctor of Law Program. The integration policy is an effort to maintain the continuity of knowledge organized by the Faculty of Law UNPAR.

Twelve Deans have taken turns leading and fostering the Faculty of Law UNPAR as the oldest private Faculty of Law in Indonesia to its current level of development. The following is a list of the Deans of the Faculty of Law of UNPAR:

As of the Judicium on July 10, 2019, the Faculty of Law of UNPAR has produced 9,692 (Nine thousand six hundred and ninety-two) graduates who are spread throughout the territory of Indonesia and undergo various professions relevant to the higher legal education provided to them, such as judges, prosecutors, legal advisors, lawyers, legal consultants, and notaries, in addition to those who work as government employees, banks, domestic and foreign companies, and non-governmental organizations.
